Hi! My name is Rachel Neil and I am a passionate, personable, driven, and experienced videographer. I am double majoring in Film & Television and Advertising at Boston University.
I have been creating videos for over 12 years and have produced content on a professional level for six years.
My favorite type of content to produce is non-fiction, client-based video. I love helping bring people's ideas to life!
I also love and have experience making content in many forms, including: advertisements/commercials, documentaries, films, television shows, social media posts, music videos, animations, digital art, motion graphics, and more!
This is me loving life on the set of Bay State, BUTV's longest running show!

I am the Executive General Manager of BUTV, BU's student-run television network. I produce Pop Showdown!, BUTV's game show. I have also served as the Media Manager, Set Director, and Editor for Bay State, the nation's longest running college soap opera. I have also directed, technical directed, edited, operated camera, rolled capture, ran sound, built sets, and gaffed lights on multiple shows, including CO-ED, Shadows, The News, and GMBU.
My BUTV shows have won two silver TELLY's and three student EMMY awards during my time as GM.
I have also served as an Art Director on AdClub's Varsity team at Boston University for four semesters. In that position, I won the awards for “Most Effective Campaign”, “Best Team”, “Team MVP”, “The Veteran Award”, and “Creative Work."
I've had many roles in the creative space roles beyond just at BU.
This summer, I had an internship as a Digital Media Marketing Intern at Tribal Vision, a full service ad agency.
Last summer, I was the Multimedia Director for Humanitarian Havening, a non-profit providing touch based trauma therapy around the world.
The two summers before that, I was a Visual Communications Intern at American Systems (a government contractor). I was on a small creative team which meant I had a lot of input. Although all of my videos were internal and confidential, I learned a lot!
I also direct, shoot, and edit show recordings for a Youth Theatre camp in my hometown. I use a tri-camera setup to capture all angles of the production and edit it together to send to the campers' families to enjoy. I've been their videographer for four years.
I also volunteered at an animal shelter to take photos and videos of cats in need of adoption. I would then generate captions for said photos and post them on Facebook. I helped get dozens of cats adopted!
I directed my high school's news broadcast show. We aired daily during normal years and weekly during the pandemic. I also was an anchor, editor, producer, head of special projects, camera operator, and audio mixer.
During the pandemic, I led all of my theatre department's virtual shows and video outputs. This included recording (through Google Meets) and editing a 90 minute virtual play. I gave everyone green screens and then spent four days straight editing everyone out to seem like they were all 'together' onscreen! I also directed, produced, and edited (as well as starred in) a 40 minute virtual play which was nominated for a CAPPIE award.
Other positions I've held at BU are: director, producer, and editor in the Redlist, BU's film club; and Media Assistant/Field Production Specialist at Field Production Services, BU's film equipment rental facility. I currently am the teaching assistant for Production III, BU's highest-level film production class.
I also edited a 30 minute sitcom pilot called Strictly Political and am currently editing a 15 page short film called Swan Song (beyond the other films I've created for my classes!)
I love leading others. Whether it be helping people develop their skills, instilling confidence, pushing them to create great work, or helping them discover their potential, leading creative teams has always been incredibly fulfilling for me.
My core values as a leader include: Respect, Communication, Compassion, Timeliness, Quality, and Creativity.
As a leader, I strive to show my team respect and compassion at all times. I expect quality work to be produced on time. I prioritize effective communication from both sides. I help foster and encourage creativity from everyone on my team, no matter their role. This helps us produce content we are proud of and maintain great relationships with our clients.
I would be honored to hone my skills and bring your concepts to life.
All I need is one idea, I'll handle the rest!
